Identity Crisis

What does it truly mean to know who you are? This message takes us on a journey through one of the most pressing questions of our time — identity. Drawing from Genesis 3 and Matthew 22, we are invited to consider how the very first identity crisis in human history still echoes through our lives today. When the serpent approached Eve in the garden, the subtle and devastating lie was not just about fruit — it was about identity. She was already made in the image and likeness of God, yet the enemy convinced her there was something she lacked. That same whisper still reaches us today, telling us we need to look somewhere else to find out who we are. The message challenges us to recognize that our identity is not found in culture, career, family, race, or experience — it is found in God alone. Just as Jesus held up a coin and asked whose image was on it, we are asked the same question: whose image is on us? The answer changes everything. When we understand that God's image is stamped on each of us, we realize we cannot be defined by what we own, where we live, or what we have done. We belong to God, and that belonging is the foundation of everything.
