Jesus Raises a Dead Girl

Feb 21, 2021

Jairus was sick with fear and grief. His little girl was dying and there was nothing he could do. So, desperately, he searched out Jesus and begged him to come and heal his daughter. But by the time they arrived at Jairus’ home, it was too late. She was gone. But Jesus wasn’t going to give up. He took the little girl by the hand and said, “Little girl, I say to you, get up!” Immediately, her lungs began to breathe, and her heart began to beat. She opened her eyes and sat up – her life totally restored. Jesus proved – not for the last time – that He has power over life and death.

When it’s time to begin, start your morning with worship, using the videos from Cross Kid Nation, and watching the short lesson video with your kids. Finish off with the group activity and discussion provided. You can also follow up throughout the week by utilizing the Discovery Island Parent page, where a home guide will be provided. This guide includes prompts for drawing, journaling, follow up reading and prayer.

Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:

Bible Story: Jesus Raises a Dead Girl
Big Idea: Jesus has power over sickness and death, so we can pray to Him for healing.
Memory Verse: “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death. And there will be no more sadness. There will be no more crying or pain.” Revelation 21:4a (NIrV)

Jesus promises that He will heal us. It may not be this side of eternity – but He will keep His promise. He invites you to come to Him, like Jairus did, and ask for healing. Do you or someone you know need the healing power of God? Stop what you’re doing right now and pray.
