Belize Mission Trip Panel Discussion

What does it truly mean to go? Not just in the physical sense of boarding a plane and landing in a foreign country, but to go in the way that God intends, with open hands, a surrendered will, and a heart ready to be undone. This service takes us deep into that question through the stories of a missions team that traveled to Belize and came back forever changed. The great commission found in Matthew 28 is not a suggestion reserved for a select few. It is a call extended to all of us, and it shows up in ways we never anticipate. We may think we are going to pour out, only to discover that God has arranged the entire journey to pour into us. The team went to lay tile and ended up mixing cement by hand, carrying buckets, and doing far more than they bargained for. But the real work was happening on the inside. Grief was being processed. Anger toward God was being released. A widow found her voice again. A young man discovered his anointing. A reluctant leader was reminded who the real boss is. The Beatitudes served as the devotional thread woven through each morning, and the words blessed are those who mourn took on a weight that no classroom could have produced. There is something about being pulled out of our comfort zones and placed in a space of total dependence on God that strips away everything we use to avoid him. Mission work, whether across the ocean or across the street, has a way of doing exactly that. And when we slow down long enough to be present, to grieve, to let people love us, we find that God has been waiting there all along.
