Jesus Weeps

Martha and Mary were grieving over the loss of their brother – Lazarus. They sent for Jesus but by the time He arrived, Lazarus had already been buried four days. Now, Jesus knew what He was going to do. He knew He was going to raise Lazarus from the dead. But when He saw the tears streaming down Mary’s face, Jesus wept, too. He had compassion on the many who loved Lazarus and chose to be with them in their pain.

Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:

Bible Story: Jesus Weeps
Big Idea: Jesus feels compassion for us when we’re sad, so we can cry out to Him.
Memory Verse: “My tears have been my food day and night… When I remember what has happened, I tell God all of my troubles.” Psalm 42:3-4 (NIrV)

Jesus has compassion on the brokenhearted. He is near the brokenhearted. Are you brokenhearted? Cry out to Jesus. He wants to be there – to be with you – in it.
