True Repentance

True repentance is not just telling God you are sorry. It is not just apologizing or confession of your sins. True repentance requires godly sorrow, which is the pain of God that He doesn't want to see His creation hurt. This pain produces conviction, this pain is the Holy Spirit telling us that we have to leave the thing that felt good. True repentance has not happened until we take personal responsibility for what you have done, felt, or omitted. True repentance has not happened until you stop doing the thing that is causing the pain; putting down the wrong and picking up the right. True repentance is necessary for salvation because it reveals who God really is and draws us closer to Christ. Jesus did the work on the cross and our response to His work is repentance.
