Get After It

What does it truly mean to give God everything? This message takes us deep into one of the most striking moments in the Old Testament, where a dying prophet, Elisha, gives a king a final set of instructions that reveal a timeless truth about faith and potential. The king follows every command, yet something is missing, and the prophet responds with anger. Why? Because obedience without full commitment leaves victory incomplete. Drawing from 2 Kings 13, we are confronted with the uncomfortable reality that many of us settle for partial success when total breakthrough is within reach. Like King Joash, we strike the ground a few times and stop, never discovering what would have happened if we had kept going. The widow with the oil jars offers us the other side of this coin, a woman who borrowed vessels until there were none left, and the oil did not stop flowing until her capacity was exhausted. The miracle matched her preparation. These two stories together ask us a piercing question: are we creating the capacity to receive everything God has for us, or are we stopping just short of the fullness He intends? This is a message about getting after it, about moving from cautious, box-checking obedience into a wholehearted pursuit of God that costs us something and changes everything.
